The Cuban sandwich

The Cuban sandwich

Get the Cuban. It's stuffed with juicy pork on crispy bread, and the rice and beans on the side are worth ordering with it.

On September 20, 2012, we set up in Savannah with pinchos, empanadas and plantains. Then my grandfather Domingo and I bought an old Frito-Lay chip truck and rebuilt it in my driveway.

The best authentic Puerto Rican food we have found since moving to the South. The pork was so tender and delicious I couldn’t stop eating it. My husband’s mofongo was insanely tasty. The empanadas are crispy on the outside and juicy and delicious on inside. Everything is spiced to perfection. The service was like being at your family’s table for Sunday dinner. It’s no wonder Guy Fieri featured this hidden gem on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I will return again and again.

We like to try out spots that have been on DDD on our vacations. This was our first stop for lunch. The staff were so sweet and patient as we decided what to get. We ended up getting 3 empanadas - pizza, chicken and pork - and yuca fries and a fresh mango juice. Everything was delicious! Our favorite empanada was the pizza one and the yuca fries and their dipping sauce were amazing. This is an old Dairy Queen converted and it was cute to sit out on the patio. Worth the stop!

Had this delivered and let me tell you how delicious and delightful the food was. The chicken empanada was crispy and flavorful and dipping it in the Chaz sauce just elevated it to another level. The cuban sandwich is perhaps the best sandwich I have ever eaten and the rice and beans side was literally close your eyes worthy. I just might have to hurt my husband bc he's eating my share of the rice and beans( my share being all of it!) please do yourself a favor and try the rice and beans!

The food at Chazito’s is absolutely amazing! The cashier Louisa was super sweet and made awesome recommendations! We ordered the loaded yuca fries, the plantain salad, the beef empanadas, the abuela/grandma mojo chicken plate, and the Sloppy Jose beef sandwich. Yum! 10/10 would recommend! Try this place out! You won’t be disappointed! We’ll definitely be back! 😊

Incredible selection of Puerto Rican specialties in an authentic atmosphere. The abuelas bean stew and white rice is the same as my wife's grandma would make and is a staple of our diet. I have never seen it in a restaurant before and was moved to tears realized what I had found. Highly recommend the mofongo as well, an incredible meal if you haven't had it before.
